The San Francisco Symphony is coming to town and will be playing at Carnegie Hall on March 16th and 17th. But first, hear them here—this evening...
Michael Tilson Thomas has been the Music Director of the San Francisco Symphony since 1995, and the orchestra has flourished under his nourishing attention. We hear them play Mahler’s Symphony No. 3 this evening, and encourage you to attend their performance of his Symphony No. 7 at Carnegie on the 17th. Great listening on both occasions!
The Zehetmair Trio will be at Zankel Hall on Saturday, March 19th, playing Schubert and Mozart. Tonight we hear the Zehetmair Quartet (same folks, plus one more) playing the Schumann String Quartet No. 3. Their eponymous leader, violinist Thomas Zehetmair, is one of his generation’s most significant artists, featured as a soloist, chamber player, and conductor in performances worldwide.
