Evening Music showcases recordings by the Vienna Philharmonic on either side of our 8PM live broadcast of the orchestra’s performance at Carnegie Hall.
The Vienna Phil will be featured as we bring you some fabulous gems: George London singing “Wotan’s Farewell’ from Wagner’s “Walküre,” Rudolf Moralt, conducting; Lorin Maazel conducting the beloved Adagietto from Mahler’s Symphony No. 5; pianist Maria João Pires playing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 14 under Claudio Abbado; the Schumann “Manfred Overture” conducted by Leonard Bernstein. A superior evening with a superior orchestra!
