Putting the Army out of the space business was not a good idea. Dr. Wernher von Braun's talents have been transferred to NASA. There is a place for women at Redstone Arsenal Base in support areas and in science and in engineering. Responds to criticism of civilians working for the military. The Soviets have demonstrated some capabilities more than the US, particularly in thrust, but the U.S. has more capabilities than them in other areas. It's difficult to compare the two programs.
