Irita Van Doren introduces her nephew Charles Van Doren, one of the authors of "Lincoln's Commando." He goes on to discuss the romance and drama of the Civil War. He speaks of the strategies used by the North to win the war.
Next, Irita Van Doren introduces burlesque star Gypsy Rose Lee. Lee talks about her early years in show business with her mother and her lack of success in Hollywood. She describes how her work schedule came between her Mother's marriages. She describes being "stranded" in Bend, Oregon.
Finally, Van Doren introduces Walter Lord, author of "Day of Infamy" who discusses the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
