New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli assesses just how much the crisis in Albany is costing the city, and his proposal to withhold lawmakers paychecks until an agreement is reached.

    CAN NYC SECEDE NOW? It's outrageous we should be beholden to these corrupt, filthy incompetents.

    Also, every news item on this should properly affix the blame where it belongs and demand:

    OK, Golisano, you broke it--you fix it.

    I thought this vile jerk was heading to Florida--good riddance!

    As a resident of the city it hurts me to say that many of the problems in Albany stem from the politicians coming from the city, not the rest of the state.

    Yes, but it was engineered by and for the corrupt powers that be that Pataki assuaged so expertly. The whole shebang ought to be thrown out.

    I submit that the reason Paterson can't appease them is because he doesn't really know how to play hte game, ie, he's one of the very few that _isn't_ corrupt.

    That's why they hate him.

    Bloomberg for Governor (of the new state of NYC)!
