WNYC reporter Beth Fertig will update the status of mayoral control negotiations and the contingency plans being worked on if it expires. Then, Lawrence Levy, Executive Director of the National Center for Suburban Studies at Hofstra and former columnist for Newsday, to discuss how Long Island and other local communities are preparing for the worst.

    Given the mad, egotistical, venal, power-driven meltdown in Albany, why are we not hearing and reading of a massive recall effort. I'm ready to sign up!

    Voters have a recourse, and that is RECALL. If Bronx voters don't organize a recall of Espada themselves, maybe citywide Democrats could do so. We voters have a reason and a rsponsibility to give the Senate a collective shake, rattle and roll.

    Recall is an instrument that makes voters part of the democratic "checks and balances" = we should use it more often, and now would seem to be a perfect time..

    Unfortunately NY does not permit the recall of state legislators so what other recourse do we have? To vote him (and the whole bunch)out in November!!
