    while it is not 100% clear that Iran does in fact seek a nuclear weapon, it is clear that the government has not been honest about its progress to date. this has been a central concern of the IAEA. it IS 100% clear, however, that whatever it takes must be done to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. NOT because they would attack Israel, as is so often stated, but rather because of the proliferation that would result in the larger middle east among arab states that fear iran's capabilities. a US offering of a security guarantee - along with a handsome economic package - just might do the trick.
