The NYS Governor's budget proposes to eliminate the NYS Department of Economic Development including the Environmental Services Unit, which has long been a crucial support for businesses to innovate new recycling, reuse and waste prevention technologies and practices. As we all know, the sustainable future of the planet depends on us using resources more wisely. Cutting out the ESU brings us back to the stone age. What is he thinking? Next he will get rid of NYSERDA (Energy research and development???)
