Over the course of an afternoon, Motrin's latest ad campaign was undone by tech-savvy mothers using twitter who were offended by the ad's tone. Virginia Heffernan, The Medium columnist for The New York Times Magazine, explains how new technology is changing the way consumers and companies interact.

    this ad has been appearing in print ads for months. do baby-carrying mom's not read? why the uproar over the tv ad and not the print ad? this women must be in so much baby-sling pain, they've lost their sense of humor. its just an ad. find something real to be enraged about, like starving children or war.
