The wondrous Dr. Howard Dean: Health and Human Services or Surgeon-General (which he could use as a real bully pulpit) or perhaps head of the new health care initiative.

Dennis Kucinich: Department of Peace (Yes, we really need one!)

Sheila Bair: Treasury (She has been great at FDIC)

Al Gore: Department of Energy (Of course!)

RFK Jr: EPA (He would finally excise the major polluters from our country!)

One truly hostile post from Sunset Park above, and an awful lot of mainstream thinking.

All those who supported the invasion of Iraq need to be "off the table" (and certainly not in the new cabinet). When the American people (and people throughout the world) who marched against the invasion on Feb 15, 2003 knew that Iraq wasn't a threat, and these folks claim to have been hoodwinked by Bush (and Powell must have had a gun to his head that made him lie to the UN?), these are clearly not people who should have any power in this government. Too many of them have colluded in the past 8 years of destruction.

[[BL Moderator Writes: Okay. Any specific suggestions of who should be in the cabinet, then?]]

Michael Pollan is so knowledgeable, but he should be an adviser to the secretary of ag, who should be someone with some experience with sustainable agriculture, and an interest in changing the broken system we have now, but who has government level experience in getting things done (but not lining his/her pockets with lobbying money). and NOT Tom Vilsack, he is cooperate AG all the way.

Michael Pollan should definitely be invited to consult on the garden that should be placed on the White House lawn.
