A modest proposal: check the daily temperature in Baghdad. It is listed in the NYT, but you can get it on-line easily enough. Then keep that number in mind whenever you see a photo of one of our soldiers there.
And another soldier was killed. 4,170.
Could you ask Ms. Fassihi if any of the political gains that were the actual goal of the "surge" have been made?
Is is an oft overlooked point.
