  please ask Chuck if he now supports treating Hedge Fund managers income as income, instead of as capital gains.i.e. shouldn't the money that they make be taxed at the highest income level, not at the relatively low level of capital gains? if so this would be a swith from his position this spring. how does NOT taxing that money as income jive with his supposed support for "middle Class" families? doesn't his past (and current ?)position show that his most favored constituents are on Wall Street (the source of much of his campaign cash)?

  We need health insurance and that needs to be addressed when Obama is President and we need to limit legal immigration to allow the Americans whom are here to get jobs. We need to raise the import taxes so that more things will be manufactured in the US again. We need to look after Americans!

  Whenever Brian goes on vacation, it's amazing how the Brian Lehrer show morphs from a Charlie Rose format, to an Olbermann Countdown format!!!

  One of the biggest problems of 2-party elections is the inability of candidates to tell the truth if the truth is negative. The opposite of "hope" is not necessarily despair, but the kind of "let's tackle the problem" mentality that wartime brought our parents.

  If oil is a diminishing commodity, if energy shortage with population growth is unsustainable, then let's move to cut population growth and per capita energy usage.

  It's time to kill the "energy wasters", the SUV factories, the airlines, the mega-houses far away from work sites, and the substitution of village greens for cul-de-sac's. Large cities are un-sustainable, as are all of the attempts to deal with them: urban schools, waste disposal, traffic mediation and the promise of "hope" that it will get better. When oceans rise in the next 10 decades we won't hav ethe energy to build levies around New York City, not to re-locate 50 million people.

  Can you ask the Senator in his role in the Senate Banking Committee why the FDIC insurance deposit level at banks of $100,000 hasn't been raised in 28 years. The balance for retirement funds is $250,000. For people who want to deposit their retirement funds for safety, should these levels at least be studied for an increase?

  While Brian tries to do a good job of giving all sides, and usually succeeds, he sometimes errs on the side of turning it into Manhattan Institute Radio.

  I disagree. I feel people learn more when they subject their views to opposing views. The acid test is to hear a rebuttal and respond to it in an analytical manner---without passion or anger.

  Fox News may dumb-down public affairs issues, but at least they're scrupulous about providing counterpoint.

  Joe Brawn: The House is in charge of bringing articles of impeachment, not the Senate.

  Larry in Nyack: Good point about two party system. We would be better off if we hd multiple parties that had to form coalitions.

  When will we impose term limits on Congressmen and Senators? If Democrats want to win the middle class they will reduce the burden of government on its people.
