People in the tri-state area have as much chance of being attacked by a shark as winning the lottery.
Unless they smear themselves with blood and swim with dead fish in their hands.
If this was Australia, California or Hawaii then it would be a different story
It makes a great movie.
Here, sharkie, sharkie, come here. We have a treat for you.
Deep Blue Sea was a recent good shark movie.
Don't eat shark though, it is not Kosher and it probably takes gross.
today's theme hysteria!
get your emergency packs everyone...
I've heard that due to unusually warm water, the jellyfish are at Jones Beach already. Do they attract the sharks? Also, I heard that the shark was on the Zachs Bay side of Jones Beach. How did he get there?
Yikes!!!!:) LOL
Were seeing dolfins, seals & sharks in our area
does this have anything to do with global warming.
Right before 9/11 it was sharks and Chandra Levy 24/7. Now the Post is doing a 12 part series on Chandra and there are sharks all over the news. I don't like it.
Hey this is a great segment, I'm learning a lot.
Who's Chandra Levy?
Where's TeachTruth and Pomerianzdad?
no shame! what the devil did she just say?
Truth here!! lol
I dont have to worry about sharks in ATL..thus no comment, well just the one.
The lady got cut off, the last caller but she was asking how to avoid a shark attack.
michael..i am actually LAUGING OUT LOUD OVA HEEYA!!
O, I know what she was asking but, I couldn't believe she was asking, valid question, but I think it should have been asked off air!!
the guest mentioned how popular some shark meat is, as well as the fins. however im surprised he did not talk about how the slaughtering of sharks for meat and fins (not to mention the bi-catch when fishing for other seafood) is decimating the world shark population at a staggering rate. this is important because sharks play an important role in the ocean ecosystem as they are top feeders. without them food chains are in danger of going way out of whack. unfortunately since they are perceived as annoyoing, dangerous people-eaters (false, for the most part) not much is paid attention to their fast dwindling populations.
I thought whales are top feeders over the sharks.
michael - i was interested enough in the topic to go to wikipedia and see what they had on great white sharks because i picked up from somewhere that gws were not as human-predatory as some people think.
now wikipedia needs a bit of design-tweaking, in my humble, but this looks pretty good; only though a shark expert, like the guest we had today, would know for sure. i suppose.
so here's the link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_white_shark
but the show's over for today so ...
... perhaps the control room is empty, merely littered with oren's latte cups, the microphones swinging gently ...
and if so, no worries...
no worries ...
no zzzzzzzzzzz
