The one remarkably striking thing to me at my first Japanese baseball game, the Hiroshima Carp vs. the Yakult Swallows, was how energetic and coordinated the crowd was. It was joyful in a way that i've rarely felt at Major League games in the states. The cheering was almost manic at times...we had a blast. That was when the home team won...

At later game, again the Swallows, but when the home team was loosing, we learned the hard way that one can cheer wildly, but only at scheduled times. We found ourselves confronted by guards and on the cusp of being asked to leave because of our bad (they said unsympathetic) timing with our enthusiasm.

Sadly, that kind of killed the joy it for us.

What an enjoyable segment: local/global interest, new film makers, great caller contributions. I even had a little zen moment of my own while listening. Thank you!
