FYI big business always gets it's way!
It befuddles me that you would have some commentator from the New York Sun as if it was a Legitimate news organization The Sun is a Neo-Conservative Yellow news paper!
One of your speakers said the Triangle Fire happened in 1918. This is incorrect--it was 1911.
Shouldn't the Borogh Pres. of Manhattan know the date of the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire, if he's going to use it in a patently political comment. Get the date right or get out of office!
The correct date is March 25, 1911 -- not 1918. Over a hundred people were killed.
I agree they are analogous to the Washington Times and it red baiting right wing agendas.
Commissioner Patricia Lancaster confronted the internal corruption machine, she is the 1st commissioner in how long to resign?
It would be possible to create accidents if parties with enough power or money wanted yu out.
Wow, sounds like the inspectors have all the zeal of a postal worker.
The union non-union issue is a bunch of pro-union BS propaganda. What's the breakdown of violations between union and non-union companies? And what is the scale of these jobs we're talking about, small apartment renovations or 6 story and up high rise buildings? Non-union does not mean un-licensed, there is a confusion here that needs to be cleared up.
What a weasel Stringer is. He thinks the Buildings Department shouldn't be responsible for one of their primary responsibilities (ensuring safety at construction sites)? Because it's hard to do? Let's close down the department, then.
