UPDATE: 'Williamsburg Stabber' Rumors
It all started with a few calls and comments during our first "Real Local News" segment. Then we followed up the next day. We continue to follow the perceived increase of police that has Williamsburg residents worried they are at risk of becoming victims of a knife attack, or worse. Reporter for the Brooklyn Paper Ben Muessig separates fact from fiction regarding the recent rash of muggings in the Brooklyn neighborhood.
Real Local News: Glen Rock's McMansion Law
From this comment, we learned that Glen Rock, NJ is considering a law to restrict “McMansions.” Mark McCullough, former Glen Rock councilman and member of its planning board, discusses the issues involved.
The Sound of Silence
What happens when you get over a thousand young people in the middle of Union Square dancing to their own individual iPods? A silent rave, of course. 18 year-old exchange student Jonnie Wesson organized the event last Friday evening.
Did you participate in the rave? Did you stumble across it? Comment below!
