    This guy is like the US POst Office. The place stinks like urine, you're constantly asked to get off your train and wait for another, and they still raise your stamp every 5 months so they make you buy new stamps, or mess up your Metro Card. They should be strung up and hung.

    Every time Lee Sander is on Brian goes easy on him and it's one big love fest.

    Lee Sander should resign he is a terrible CEO because the rate hike is a crime and disgrace.

    It is outrageous train riders are having to pay more.

    As soon as the economy slows down and starts to tank the MTA raises fares.

    The remedy is simple gouge the tourist because they will never stop coming to the city and gauge advertisers because they will always advertise on the trains. When I mean gauge I mean outrageous rates. So high it will make up budget shortfalls.

    Also these capital projects are so over budget and there is no oversight in terms of corruption. I've talked to people who work for the MTA and they said the waste and corruption would make people sick.

    Resign Lee Sander!

    Please ask Mr. Sander about alternatives for raising revenue for the system such as publicly discussing rates for advertisers (my subway station was recently plastered with dozens of framed ads on a platform that had not had them--I doubt this revenue will go to rehabilitate the station's spalling concrete beams, flooding at the steps from heavy rains, or sparks arching from the third rail.) and possibly raising them.

    Also, why aren't solutions for a better system that are seemingly free implemented. My personal peeve is that the cross-town G does not connect to the M-R-N line at the 4th and 9th station in Brooklyn.

    why is there such difficulty getting infrastructure investment in this country. bridges, power grids levees fail and yet there's cats for tax cuts??

    also in the news this AM some upstate Senator said if the MTA gets money then upstate road gets the same amount. why the parity?

    1. What is the feasibility of linking Staten Island to the subway system via a Brooklyn tunnel?

    2. How about integrating the PATH with the subway system? Let trains run up the number 6 line.

    Seems this would have a great impact on mobility and get people out of their cars.

    Rather than Bus Rapid Transit, I'd like to see Light-Rail. Much more 21st century, and you could link them directly into the subway stations.

    Also: When will Airtrain run straight into GCT?? transferring at Jamaica is a huge headache and embarrassing

    HJS has a great point. But the stations themselves, with crumbling contrete, rusting beams and peeling paint don't encourage people to behave as they should. Have you been to Moscow? Now there's a subway service!

    Brian, could you be any softer on him? How about the stink of urine in the back of the bus by the stairwell? How about constantly being asked to get off trains and wait for another. If you didn't have the same 3 callers on the air in every segment I would have asked him how much money he makes and what kind of car he drives. Raise my fare? And brian you have nothing to say about it? You're turning into a soft piece of you know what!

    Please. The MTA is still recovering from the system's collapse in the 70s - $19 billion of this plan is basically maintenance and repair. There's enough track to stretch from New York to Denver; do you think maintaining the system is cheap? They're asking for $30 billion and they aren't going to get it. Whose fault is that?
