both kidneys robbed from the victims or one each? wouldn't they be dead with 2 kidneys gone?

Sounds like Medical tourism has merged with capitalism...utterly horrible.
How does this compare to China's issues?
It is only one kidney, I saw footage on I think, Democracy Now, yesterday (or some other tv news) and there is footage of the patients with only one kidney. They would die if it were two! In fact the story indicated that a doctor who examined these patient-victims said the surgery was very well performed by an expert surgeon. Nonetheless...
These tales have run through third world countries for years. The likelyhood of finding a match and then dealing with the high rate of organ rejection makes this type of transplantation impossible. There is a growing issue of very poor people willingly selling their organs - but that is different. I think soon, this story will also be uncovered as untrue.
