Is Midtown Manhattan any place for a horse? A fixture of the New York tourist trade is the horse-drawn carriage ride around Central Park, but Queens City Councilman Tony Avella wants to abolish that business as cruelty to animals. Also: race and IQ, race and the Mormon Church, airport adjustments, the MTA fare hike and the public Webinar that went awry.
If a Webinar falls in the Forest...
Sewell Chan, reporter for The New York Times, checks in on the technical errors on yesterdays MTA's Webinar. Then Lee Sander, CEO and Executive Director of the MTA, lets us in on the thinking behind the fare hike (and why that Webinar didn't quite work).

Alexandra Marks, a correspondent for The Christian Science Monitor, tells us about the new cap on flights to and from JFK airport, and runs down the options for air travel over the holidays.
