Open Phones: The Stigma Around HIV/AIDS

Friday, November 30, 2007

Listeners with HIV tell us if there is still a stigma around AIDS.

WNYC is creating a long-term project in honor of World AIDS Day and we need your help. Send us your stories. If you have AIDS or are HIV positive, if you know someone who is, if you’re a healthcare worker, if AIDS has touched your life in any way, and you’d like to share you story, send us your story at worldaidsday@wnyc.org. We are accepting stories throughout the month of December.

more a psychological question. My best firend has been positive for a bit over a year now and he has become very withdrawn from everything... can anyone provide some advice or insight on how to get my firend to realize his life is not yet over and get him to live a little bit more?

maybe you can talk your friend into taking a guitar lesson with you or joining (or starting!) a book group or something else on an on-going basis? They are already lucky to have a good friend like you who cares.
