in it's hay day coney island was a recreation site, but more of a working class recreation site than a luxurey recreation site. i keep hearing about development plans involving "luxury hotels". would it be more in keeping with tradition and serve and undersevered market to put more emphasis on mid-priced and inexpensive hotels? would encouraging new retail that serves less affluent guests also be more useful to nearby residents?
