Convince me that this leadership program is not a resume building joke. I've been in these leadership programs at my university, and they are mostly worthless except for the value(?) they add to my resume. Convince me this program is different please.
Please have your Israeli-Arab guest clarify his statement about getting through checkpoints. I thought that checkpoints were in the West Bank, not in Israel behind the green line.
Bruce,
Arabs and muslims in Israel are Second Class Citizens - Those who live in the West Bank and Gaza are 3rd class citizens - Despite the rhetoric, Israel occupies these territories and is responsible for the horrible living conditions under which Palestinians (Muslim AND Christians) live.
Despite the propaganda in the US media (Israeli media is much more fair), the OVERWHELMING majority of Palestinians in the occupied territories are average decent families who are prevented from living a quiet normal life. They are NOT terrorists or criminals as they are regularly smeared in the US.
Brian flippantly commented that Hamas would be unable to respect a peace treaty
if there were a two state solution
but if my memory serves me
didn't Hamas recently respect a cease fire for a year and a half until Israeli provocation convinced them to renounce it?
