You must be a big Lou Dobbs fan.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe it was the United States' institutionalized wage-slave system that demands illegal immigrants in order to thrive economically that is actually at fault here?

The industrialists are well aware the onus of illegal immigration falls on the immigrants themselves, and xenophobic rubes get all hot and bothered about the lower class, not the rich who have orchestrated this current situation.

And yet, you will continue to vote Republican and believe in capitalism and go the route like every other nativist does in history: irrelevance.

I think the issue with illegal immigration is somewhat like abortion: those who think by "cracking down" on them with totalitarian measures can solve the problem tend to just make the problem worse.

And now we are rounding people up in their homes...

The idea that the press conference tipped off the bad guys is absurd. Like they did not hear about the raids through the community...

"Who's gonna mow the lawns?" WOW! I never thought I'd hear Brian stereo-type those immigrants who do mow lawns for incomes as all being illegal. Did I hear correctly?

mr Schmitt should do something about business owners who hire labor and pay them under the table if that happens on Long island

"Legal vs Illegal" IS the issue here. I don't agree with most of what this guy is saying but how can anyone support anything that "illegal" and expect the next illegal issue to be ignored. At what point do we just accept that illegal actions are just a fact of life and move on. Just get these folks "legalized" and make it easier to do if necessary but be sure it's done. Duh.

"Who's gonna mow the lawns?" Shame on Brian for stereotyping those LEGAL immigrants who do landscaping as a living as being illegal.

Shame on Brian for stereotyping those LEGAL immigrants who do landscaping for a living as being illegal. Never expected such a statement from him...

I think that regardless of your stance on non-citizens in Nassau County it is unconscionable for American government officials to behave in such an irresponsible and border line illegal fashion. Kicking down doors and demanding to see papers is incredibly reminiscent of an early Nazi Germany. Between the actions of ICE and the recent comments of Rep. Peter King, I am very worried about the way this country is heading. I for one am proud that the Nassau cops to the chance to think for themselves and not lay back and let this happen without letting the people of this country know what was going on. If this behavior is on the up and up why hide it?
