Darjeeling is in the North-East of India and in the mountains. Yet in the movie the train is travelling through desserts.

    A Geographical gaffe?

The prequel short for Darjeeling Limited is indeed available for free via iTunes. Or it was a few nights ago when I downloaded the video.

Well that says more about critics.

Life Aquatic was great as was Bottle Rocket and Rushmore

I did not care for Tennenbaums.

I never thought his stuff was "quirky" what ever that means.

    They are great films.

    Funny

But hey I love Jack Black also!

I just checked out the Hotel Chevalier on iTunes, and it's still available for free.

    Have a lovely day,

    -Francesca

After expressing such fondness for short films just now, how does someone like me with multiple festival awards for a short film that has been in over 3 dozen festivals and stars Elizabeth Franz get someone like your guests to see it??

  • [9] Mike from brooklyn October 04, 2007 - 10:54AM

Listening to the audio/dialogue excerpts from "Djarling Limited" (sp?)... ugggh! God awful!

I don't know anyone who speaks like this, or anything remotely like it. Theater doesn't require strict adherence to reality, but then it must be compelling in some way. But this dialogue doesn't seem to have any compelling quality to it at all.

Awful. I can't believe people actually "buy" this stuff.

  • [11] WC from NYC October 04, 2007 - 10:56AM

they never charged a fee for Hotel Chavelier. It was always free.

  • [12] WC from NYC October 04, 2007 - 11:10AM

Movies are relative to personal experience. We emotionally connect to movies we can relate to so what may seem like god awful material to one person may be personal to another. I know so many people who hated Lost in Translation but I loved it because there were moments I related intimately with.

  • [13] Barry Appel from NJ October 04, 2007 - 11:48AM

How do I locate Hotel Chavelier on I-tunes?

I put the name on the search bar, and received a 'no results' ??

  • [14] Nicholas Naughton from las cruces, Nm October 12, 2007 - 12:33AM

I see that everyone is excited for a movie, but please say something other than just a plug for a plug. Anderson has a great talent and also a gift for selling his new work with a buzz around a free treat online, but it's still propaganda. Let's call it for what it is.
