Are You Being Gouged?
This is the week when the world comes to New York. We preview the UN General Assembly session and what might actually get accomplished by having leaders from Bush to Ahmadinejad on the same stage. We launch our next "crowdsourcing" project: Are You Being Gouged? The assignment is to find out the prices of a basket of goods in your neighborhood. Also, we take your calls on Columbia University’s Ahmadinejad forum and ask what questions you have for the Iranian president; and how to strike the balance between ego and humility at the workplace.
The World At Our Doorstep
Every autumn world leaders congregate in New York City for the UN's General Assembly. Shashi Tharoor, former Under-Secretary-General for Communications and Public Information and author of the forthcoming book The Elephant, the Tiger, and the Cell Phone: India, the Emerging 21st-Century Power (Arcade Publishing 2007) talks about this years General Assembly meetings, and Michael Goodwin, Daily News columnist, Pulitzer Prize winner and the News' Executive Editor and Editorial Page Editor, chimes in about the politics and problems of hosting these world leaders here in New York.

Are You Being Gouged?
Our latest "crowdsourcing" project asks listeners to go to their local grocery store and find out the price of three goods: milk, lettuce and beer. You don’t have to buy them (or consume them), but we want to know how much they cost in different neighborhoods throughout the New York area.
Associate producer Jim Colgan introduces the new project.
Big Business/Big Egos
Business consultants David Marcum and Steven Smith explain how ego and humility must balance for effective leadership in their new book, egonomics: What Makes Ego Our Greatest Asset (or Most Expensive Liability) (Fireside Books, 2007).

Open Phones: What would you ask Mahmoud Ahmadenijad?
Listeners tell us what they would ask Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadenijad if they were able to attend the Columbia University forum.
