CLEAR BUSH
Say a dirge
For the surge.
Dump the glut
With a cut.
Bush the man
With a plan!
Change too quick?
Check with Dick.
i lived across the street from the deans during the watergate years (we lived at 5714 macarthur blvd., NW) and i always think of them whenever i see paparazzi camped out on the lawns of people embroiled in public scandal. i know this has nothing to do w/ mr. dean's book or opinoins -- which i find interesting and refreshing -- but i just want to say that i always really felt bad for his family on a personal level, and respected him and his wife for their apparent aplomb. i was a kid then, and couldn't imagine how awful that would be if TV cameras were right outside my house looking at me.
Just thought I'd let you know that 2 of the 7 OTHER truth tellers about Bush and Iraq - the soldiers who wrote that OP-Ed in the NY Times about what's really going on in Iraq, were killed on Monday in Iraq.
Yance T. Gray and Omar Mora died Monday in a vehicle accident in Baghdad.
I thought it might deserve a mention on the show. I know it's only marginally relevant, but my condolences go out to these brave men.
Hi Brian:
Here's my Haiku again
Impeach CHENEY
PELOSI Pardons
Democracy Restored.
Now it IS specific that Cheney is impeached, and NOT bush.
Need to impeach the Imperial puppeteer and vizier to the actual president.
Once Pelosi is VP, she can offer a FULL pardon to BUSH to RESIGN
And she also becomes a 1 term (4 year) lame duck president who can work for the following issues:
*UNDO the damage inflicted on us by BUSH, et al
*Work for a National RESTORATION COUNCIL
*Work for a NATIONAL inquiry and reconcillation commission to OPENLY examine, and grant IMMUNITY for those who testify
(a la South Africa), for those who come clean, they wont be charged
AND most importantly:
Establish a NEW national reconcillation and restoration administration like the FDR WPA.
(see next message)
Thanks again:

More on Reconstruction: by Pelosi:
Establish a NEW national reconciliation and restoration administration like the FDR's WPA.
THE RECONSTRUCTION Administration will:
Guarantee a LIVING (not minimum) wage
Give 6month -->preschool affordable day care to all
Require (french style) mandatory maternity/paternity leaves of 6 months (paid)
institue a 3 year draft/community service to get army/workers for the inner cities that are needed.
The newly hired workers will:
a) provide NEIGHBORHOOD day care EVERYWHERE.
b) be paid living wage.
c) Work to get ALL communities and schools up to a working level
d) Start a projects group to rebuild our country.
e) provide skills training to community
f) teach the natives how to "fish"
and generally, I'd presume that President Pelosi would be a great choice for the majority of the public to restore our great country.
And I'd rather vote for HER as President, rather then Hillary.
I'd bet that almost all the candidates would support her too in this case
Thnanks again:

Absolutely, the followers are as much so if not more so the problem. We have too many follow-the-leaders in this country and as history has shown it causes the downfall of nations. Excellent work, Mr. Dean, I've watched you on Bill Moyers and Keith Olbermann and 30 years ago I never thought I'd find myself respecting your ideas. Bravo.
I agree, it was disgraceful that you had Krystal on the show and hardly challenged him. The neo-con philosophy will be weakened if the media STOPS giving them a platform and treating them as if what they have to say is relevanr. Krystal got it SO WRONG he should never be heard from again. He is a fascistic scumbag beating the drum for more war with Iran now. Don't ever have him on again...it was a disgrace
Ask about OIL?????
My original Haiku:
(messages got sent in Reverse order)
Impeach CHENEY
Pelosi Pardons
Democracy Restored.
And I do mean impeach CHENEY.
As the chief puppeteer of this travesty of government, he deserves it most.
And then Pelosi would "suggest" that she will pardon BUSH if he resigns
And President Pelosi could become a new lincoln.
and HELP RECONSTRUCT The US of A.
A Truth and Reconciliation Commission
Would:
*Pardon those who truthfully testify on their part on this.
*Publically help our country get OVER this problem.
Next a Reconstruction project administration:
goals:
1) Healthcare for ALL
2) Improve our educational system from the bottom up
3) remove welfare, by having everyone work in day-care centers.
4) PAY A FAIR LIVING WAGE
5) possibly: Research a new fuel system, NOT hydrogen based.
Kristol, Pearl and Wolfowitz are all poison. The unholy trinity. Personally I think their interest and main concern is primarily Middle East interests which they put above and make US interests.
A listener called today and excoriated Brian for even having Bill Kristol ON. Dean made brave and defended Brian, albeit by stating that this is how the public will know how repulsive his views are. He then stated that Kristol and his ilk have "authoritarian personalities" and are "incapable of considering other points of view". His offering this explanation, without a hint of irony, to a caller who blatantly demands censorship of competing ideas was a laugh riot. Gee - might it possibly seem that her point of view was "authoritarian"? Did she (or Dean or Brian) suggest that they should "consider HIS points of view". The vitriol, self-righteousness and lack of intellectual honesty and self-awareness of libs never ceases to amaze me. Conservative speakers get shouted down, pied and demonstrated against by these brave upholders of "open-mindedness" and "free speech".
yech!!!!
Hi,
I was that caller. It would be very hard to censor Kristol. He's all over the tv and has his own publication. What I object to is giving someone who has proved himself to be profoundly wrong the mantel of authority that comes with being on a show known for its integrity. And Brian did not, in my opinion, adequately challenge him perhaps beyond mentioning Kristol's inane comment on Terry Gross's show.
You are right, however, about my choice of words when I said allowed on the show. I misspoke. It was specifically about TBLS, not the media in general.
What was the date of the show? I'd like to relisten.
Thanks for that admission Mary.
I still assert that YOUR position reflected the very traits - "authoritarianism" and "lack of openness to other ideas" that Dean attributed to the neocons. The Left often vehemently accuses the Right of not "being open" but rarely shows signs of that openness themselves. Very few on the Left have taken the time to understand what the neocon positions and philosophy really are, preferring instead to simply vilify them as "fascistic" or "war-mongering". This heady combination of ignorance, vigor and moral superiority, usually reinforced by only reading and associating with like minded folks, adds nothing to the debate. Frankly, many of us in the center see the Hard Left as a secular variation of religious fanatics. They exhibit -
iron clad and passionate adherence to certain "faith based" points of view, a tendency/need to vilify those who disagree, no interest in understanding the other side of the argument (while of course loving the criticize certain public officials for a "lack of curiosity" - jeez they're funny), self-righteousness and moral superiority.
Those on the Right tend to see those on the Left as naive. Those on the Left tend to see those on the Right as morally corrupt (but then again - they are naive).
And - while not fitting in to the "religious" model - the Hard Left also seem to be smug and angry (Krugman, Dowd, etc.)
Yours in truth,
KS
