BUT the other question is did brono use state assets for political reasons??
Joe Bruno plainly and simply is scum and has done nothing, NOTHING for this city and in fact he has blocked many programs and delayed some many that they've just dissolved into nothingness. It's time NYS got term limits for their representatives on both sides. If it works with presidents then it would work with representatives.
Bruno is THE obstacle to any real reform of the corrupt dirty evil legalized bribery that is campaign finance.
Bruno is the Don of a legalized organized crime network.
Spitzer's "sins" in this instance are, at worst, venial while Bruno's are mortal.
It's amazing to me that the NY media is failing to criticize the real underlying dynamic of this "scandal".
This is like John Gotti calling the cops on his case corrupt because a couple of them were littering.
On the other hand, if Spitzer goes under oath an lies; he's an idiot.
Spitzer needs to get behind the truth and own it...whatever that truth is; then he needs to go after the REALLY corrupt system that Bruno rules.
ANy Republican OR Democrats who oppose radical reform in the area of delegitimizing bribery needs to be thrown out of office at the next opportunity.
If Spitzer didn't have the balls to "go to the mats" before; he should now....if he wants to survive politically the only way to do that at this point is to politically eviscerate Joe Bruno for righteous reasons before Bruno does it to him for corrupt reasons.
