Wednesday, August 01, 2007
Governor Eliot Spitzer is still reeling from charges that he misused state troopers to monitor a political rival. I live in NJ but I’ve been following this story. I read the governor’s OpEd on Sunday, and was impressed that he avoided the passive voice, i.e mistakes were made. It seems to me that the story has lost its legs, but it’s in Senator Bruno’s interest to keep the it on page 1. By concentrating on this “scandal” the Senate and Assembly are avoiding action on campaign finance reform and congestion pricing.
Brian, put your ego down -- this is NOT a scandal.
stop it! i'm tired of this.
please move on to stories with real consequences.
It's a good thing that Gov. Spitzer will not appoint Attorney General Cuomo as a special investigator. Atty Gen. Cuomo wants the governor's job. He would be more than happy (as would Bruno) to spend the years leading up to the election investigating Spitzer.
Yeah, Alberto Gonzalez nonsense is far more important and let's get him purged from office.
Enough already!!! What is the scandal when public employees look at the use of public services by other public employees!! Isn't that what they're supposed to do??? Taxpayers would appreciate accountability of everything office holders do with services provided.
Political motivation--isn't that inherent when one holds public office? Anything a politician says or does is politically motivated!!!
Give me a break. Spitzer knew about it all and
ordered it to get Bruno. Oh, I forgot liberal
democrats always get a pass, but not republicans when they do something wrong. You
leftwingers like Barrett believe the end always
justifies the means. A democrat senate,God forbid. There will be no check on the the likes of Spitzer and his radical leftwing agenda.
Wayne Barrett is right. We need a democrat senate so we can have all the wonderful things
democrats want to do for us New Yorkers. The way things are going in this state of dysfunction and corruption maybe we can beat
New Jersey for the title of most corrupt state.
Just think with a democrat senate we can
have Commissar Spitzer and re-education camps
too for unreformed republicans and conservative
New Yorkers. You would like that?
