Wait a minute, the claim of Executive Privilege protects the presidents ability to talk freely with his aides? But the White House has said the president wasn't involved in this matter. So which is it?
As with Nixon this guy seems to think--and yes it's been said ad nauseam to almost be ineffective--but Bush does seem to think he is some sort of god and is most assuredly abusing power. It is definitely time that the Congress consider strongly the possibility of impeachment. We then get Cheney but maybe if we take them on one at a time it can work even if it at least stops them from promoting their bad policies for the rest of their term. If this continues it can become the beginning of a precedent.
Isn't time to stop the lame comments about Bill Clinton and sex whenever his name comes up -- no matter how irrelevant to the subject at hand -- just to get a cheap laugh. Don't try to be Jay Leno -- it's not worth it -- and you'd need better writers.

But to be fair to Congress (ugh) it is not a large majority Democratic so when saying a Democratic Congress stinks, it should be kept in mind that the Republican minority is a substantial minority able to knock out or down or prevent, if you will, the Democrats' attempts at "doing something". Don't forget these are the same Republicans who were in power just 10 months ago and not much has changed with regard to their attempts to keep things from moving on from that status quo of the past 6 years. I don't think that's generally reported properly and not surprised that it's not, frankly!
The issue of impeachment has again been raised most forcifully on Bill Moyers Journal in his recent interview with Bruce Fein and John Nichols.
I hope that Brian will have the courage that Mr. Moyers has demonstrated and engage this conversation on his show. Please have Bruce Fein on for an interview!
