It was during Carter's watch, and Dr. Brzezinski's watch, that the Islamic revolution occurred! Anybody remember the now Islamic Republic of Iran?? Carter and Brzezinski failed to appreciate the breadth of the threat of the Khomeni regime and failed to bolster the Shah when that is precisely what was needed. The U.S. was never so discredited as when the Islamists held our Embassy personnel hostage for so long.
