I took offense at your implication that orthodox jews resort to hypocrisy in order to function within the bounds of jewish law. The prohibitions against carrying on the sabbath are mostly rabbinic, i.e. man-made. Therefore, the Rabbis were well within their prerogative to institute the concept of establishing symbolic boundaries (an eruv) that rendered "outdoor" space "indoor" space. There is no hypocrisy or inconsistency here.
