Brian, I listen and appreciate your show everyday.
However, I found today's discussion about the war bill to be almost cynical.
Everybody focuses on the chess games played in DC and we seem to forget two important truths:
1- 6 months from now (the time the democrats will get this agenda going for) we will be counting about 500 other american solders lost and who knows how many iraqi lives
2- The administration's idea that if we leave Iraq will become an Al Qaeda heaven is as bogus an idea as the idea to start the war there in the first place. Al Qaeda and the shiite Maliki goverment, not to mention here the Al Sadr faction, have nothing in common with eachother.
That fight will take place,we do not need to refere it, and my guess is more sunnis then shiites will suffer from it.
However at the end the shiites will win it with help from Iran and some sort of equilibrium will be taking place.
Our presence is not going to reverse this proccess, is just going to prolong the agony.
Americans fought in this country in the Civil War. It was painful but a country was born out of that war.
Let the Iraqis fight their own.
Best Regards,
Alban
