    For President’s Day, we talk Monday Morning Politics with historians Douglas Brinkley and Julian Zelizer. They’ll put President Bush's Iraq war policy in historical context, and look at way the 2008 presidential race is getting off to an early start. Also: all ten candidates running for Yvette Clark’s former city council seat in Brooklyn.

Julian Zelizer, professor of history at Boston University and author of How Congress Helped End the Vietnam War in the March 2007 American Prospect magazine, and Douglas Brinkley, professor of history and director of the Roosevelt Center at Tulane University and the author, most recently, of Gerald R. Ford (Times Books, 2007), comment on the news and the process of making history.

Special Election

On Tuesday, February 20, Brooklyn voters go to the polls to elect a new City Council representative. Ten candidates will be vying for the seat vacated by Yvette Clark. Matthieu Eugene, Karlene Gordon, Jesse Hamilton, Jennifer James, Zenobia McNally, Mohammad Razvi, Harry Schiffman, Wellington Sharpe, Joel Toney, and Leithland "Rickie" Tulloch will get a few minutes on air to discuss why each should represent the 40th district.
