    What kind of permanent law will Iraq's new national assembly write after it is elected?

    Constitutional Concern

    A week ago the Iraqi parliament failed to finalize their draft Constitution. Unfortunately delegates were not able to meet a compromise and extended their deadline to another week. As the new deadline looms several sticking points are still hanging, including federalism, the role of Islam, the distribution of natural resources and women’s rights.
