    Jersey Jaunts

New Jersey is a great place to drive, and not just because of the plentiful shopping centers. Besides beautiful scenery, the garden state has some of the northeast's most interesting architectural and historic sights, like Newark's Ironbound district and many, many places where Washington slept. New Jersey is also the site of a highly contentious congressional race between a republican and a republican-turned-democrat. Also: the nights are getting shorter, but a fresh season of TV shows promises to keep you warm at night. And: a US-led war on Iraq may be imminent, but America's close ally Israel may complicate matters by insisting on a strike-back policy.
