There is a tradition about the Messiah that when he comes, there would be peace on the earth. During the life of Jesus, approximately 4 BC to 30 AD were there no major wars on earth, or in the then known world?
Well, the Pax Romana lasted from 27 BC to 180 AD from Augustus to Marcus Aurelius.
Peace is only possible through God's presence.
I listened to the rebroadcast of the final program on The End of War. No one talked about the economic interests involved in promoting war, like arms dealers. Until corporations and individuals no longer can see war as a profit-making enterprise, there will always be people who are encouraging and promoting war, since unfortunately those corporations and individuals have more power over governments than the electorate does.
