Brian,
Welcome Back!
It's not the same show without you :-)
Isn't this a great parallel for people to understand how Americans are viewed in Moslem countries -- when we claim to be there to help them rebuild their country? The shoe is on the other foot.
The most vocal detractors of a mosque at ground zero would wholeheartedly endorse our good intentions in Moslem countries, but condemn the claims of good will and good intentions of the builders of the mosque.
Don't destroy the first amendment to appease anger and sadness from 9/11.
The strength of this country is the unity that's brought by trying to maintain a government that views all the religions as the same.
Let the mosque go forward as a christian church or synagogue would.
I'm equally against all religions. There are enough problems with radicalized Christians in this country, I'd rather not encourage any other religions to get stronger footholds and build more places of worship anywhere. Let people practice religion in the privacy of their own homes if they want, and let's start taxing "houses of worship" and religious organizations just like everyone else!
Every religion starts as a cult!
All is not back-to-normal after the BP oil spill according to first-hand accounts from many Gulf fisherfolk. Bottom species are swimming at the water's surface, and dispersants robbing the undersea water of oxygen may be to blame:

that was huge news....
Wheat futures reached their highest prices in two years, and this on the heels of a single hedge fund, Armajaro Asset Management, gaining control of 240,000 tons of cocoa, or 7% of annual global production. Agricultural markets may be safe for low-risk investors, but is this speculation safe for consumers?

Thanks, Brian, for having David Brancaccio do a guest-host stint. I'm a big fan of his and was sorely disappointed when "Now" was canceled, so it was a real joy to hear him on the air again. I think he deserves a permanent gig where he can be heard (and seen?) regularly. Until he gets one (and assuming he's willing) I'd love it if he were your guest-host whenever you're away.
By the way, I'm a big fan of yours too, and I welcome your return.
