Ok I tried to call in just now - arg frustrated I could not get through. This doctor WAS bashing multi vitamins and other supplements & as one listener said was reductionist & in my view misdirected at best. I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt as I have not seen or read his book.
The studies he spoke about were greatly flawed for so many reasons. The quality of vitamins given and dosage amounts were all over the map and the participant pools were often not diverse or fairly representative , to name a few. I'd like to hear more of the other side of this long argument. It is not food vs supplements! It is the medical community vs the alternative community as I see it. I strongly disagree with Brian on his framing of the debate.I am A HUGE Brian Lehrer fan and a frequent member listener.
The alternative community knows and recognizes the importance of food in health and clearly endorsing better diet. The medical community is on the whole is patently dismissive of the other and probably threatened by a growing trend. People are sicker than ever so obviously the balance of power needs to shift. The medical community should open up their minds and hopefully join hands with sooooo many others who are looking for a better way of helping themselves. By the way this is particularly true among cancer survivors. I am looking forward to more balanced reporting in the future.
Dear Mr. Lehrer,
Could you have on one of your future shows someone who could speak about Chemtrails and HAARP. I have been investigating online and the informatation I have been reading and listening to is most disturbing. I beleive it would be of great interest to your listening audience. Thank you for yoyr time
Why Haven't you spoken with or at least reported on Buddy Roemer - the ONLY
republican running on corruption and campaign finance reform? He's been blocked from all the debates - one has to wonder if the rest of the candidates and their superpacs don't want him speaking about the issue.
He's on the ballot in N.H. but nobody will talk about him. In my opinion, he's the only one out of the lot of them who has anything interesting to say. If one doesn't fix corruption first then nothing will change which is just how the corporations want it. You should consider interviewing him.
Thanks
