Christine Quinn as a liberal shoo-in??? Not with her record.
It seems to me that the obvious question is, if $10k is not enough to buy Quinn's vote, how much is?
dboy, I was thinking the same thing...this former altar boy turned agnostic is all "Poped out".
No disrespect indended to devout Catholics (i.e. the small minority of Catholics) who couldn't get enough coverage.

RBC, you think highly of politicians. $10,000 in a presidential campaign is a lot. You're are naive to think it doesn't make a difference.
Doesn't everyone realize that Bloomberg takes corporate money ALL THE TIME.... its called the Bloomberg,L.P. media & financial information empire. His wealth - which has increased 50% in the time he's been mayor - is directly tied with that company.
-Every time a company leases Bloomberg terminals
-Every time a company advertises on the Bloomberg radio or TV networks
Also, realize that Bloomberg gets undying love from all the "community leaders" when he donates money to their organizations.
...c'mon!!! We're wasting all this precious air time on nyc mayoral politics when we SHOULD be talking about...
THE NEW POPE!!
Woo hoo!
I hope Brian talks about the thousands of dollars Quinn handed out to council members for appearing on committees.
I can't stand Christine Quinn. She is such a self promoting hustler. Everything she does seems to have an ulterior motive with her pandering to Bloomberg in the term limits reversal just being the most blatant example. And after a decade of listening to the disdainful condescending voice of Emperor Bloomberg I dread having to hear that shrill screech of Christine Quinn. Please no. Living in Park Slope I have had encounters with Bill DeBlasio who has been out there supporting our issues and concerns and he strikes me as an intelligent, invloved and caring leader. And keep in mind that DeBlasio supported term limits even though it would have turned him out of office. I am very much looking forward to pulling the lever for him. Fingers crossed.
I think Quinn is too easily swayed by the political winds. In my opinion, she's the Mitt Romney of the left. I think Liu would act in the best interest of the city. It looks like he could never win, but I think he's the one for the post Bloomberg era.
Christine Quinn ...
Vote for me...I'm HISTORIC!
I'll be the FIRST!!!
What else matters ???!!! Where's your guilt?
FIRST woman!!!!!
FIRST lesbian!!!!
FIRST mariied gay person!!!!
FIRST from my block!!!! FIRST from my elementary school!!!!
What else do you need to know?
Brian,
Please realize that (1)if Coca-Cola wanted to influence a campaign, they would've wrote a much bigger check than $10K. Also (2)Coca-Cola bottles water.
Christine Quinn, The Racist Dickensian, xenophobe from office.
All odious.
Christine Quinn is a fraud: She had her dad with her and she would not let the press ask him questions.
Her awkward hand-shake with a homeless man, asking for his vote, said it all...
Quinn is full of crap, she goes on and on about her "dad" and during her 5 boro tour at one point she prevented, very strongly, a journalist who approached her father to ask him a question. I believe it was a NY1 reporter but not sure of that. I did see the story on NY1.
Well then workers should vote for her spirit.
Vote for de Blasio.
She should talk about obesity? She seems to drink lots of soda!
CHRISTINE QUINN - AP NEWS, 3-11-13 ...
"A former tenant organizer and director of a gay and lesbian advocacy group."
WOW, WHAT CREDENTIALS!
So, this once great city of manufacturing, commerce and international business will now be run by yet another community organizer (How’s Barry doing for the economy in Washington?) … who also gets to check a second identity politics box as a gay activist? THIS is what we elect as our leaders now … left wing agitators? Are we that stupid? It’s easy to be a professional kvetch, Christine. Try solving something.
How we have fallen!!!
John, should I make those same generalizations about the Hispanic community that you say you are part of? Or since you self-identify as a "white Hispanic" - which is a fallacy in my opinion.
John, I sincerely hope you're joking. You can't indict an entire community with an accusation as unsubsatantiated as the one you're asserting (with any semblance of credibilty that is).

Agree with john!!!
Much of the lefty slacker audience here doesn't remember what a nightmare Brooklyn had become under Democratic soft-on-crime/blame-the-police mayors.
The Rudy/Bloomberg NYC of the last 20 years has spoiled people.
You won't like the future.
I think the word "control" has too any negative connotations and undermines the collective character and dignity of NYC residents.
Explain to me why every 'stop and frisk' that DOES NOT RESULT in an ARREST deemed unconstitutional and the victims should be compensated - say $5,000 per stop.
Text of the Second Amendment
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
How about an investigation of the black community and its embrace of criminality. The thug life, the don't snitch movement, the lack of self policing, the lack of a drive for education.
Look at Chicago, Detroit, Miami, Oakland, I can go on and on. Each city with a black population bent on Social Suicide.
I will vote for my loser landlord before I ever vote for Christine Quinn. Why? Because as speaker of city council she helped Bloomberg steal a third term by manipulation of our laws and against the wishes of the people of NYC who voted for term limits. Rudy G couldn’t run for a third term after terrorists attacked and brought down the world trade center. Why was it so important that Bloomie get a third term when Wall St. stole everyone’s retirement money? I can’t support someone who ignores the law and the voters. If Quinn wins, whoever runs against her has my support, my vote, and my campaign contribution. Also, I can’t stand Quinn’s intonation which is to my ear, constantly condescending. Christine Quinn will also say and do anything to get elected. She’s the Mitt Romney of NYC politics.
Looks like we may be entering a post Bloomberg world. How the wannabees for mayor answer the question of civil unrest will be telling. Bloomberg and Rudy before him had the"community" under control; leading to economic growth and safety.
