Way to push the discussion to Global Warming. We all know how important it is for city mayor's to weigh in on Global Warming. In addiiton, if you think sitting presidents don't try and use every trick in the book to manipulate numbers to get reelected, you are dense.

Let's stick to the WNYC basics: Free Abortions and Birth Control, LGBT Issues, Blindly Supporting Obama, Blaming Business For Every Problem, and Not Holding People Responsible For Their Actions.

I'm curious to know how many of these comments are coming from unemployable people blaming the world for their problems.

If you are making comments calling for higher taxes, please state how much you paid into the system. If you haven't paid in, your opinions don't really count for much.

I am glad this gentleman is in the race. He cannot win and he will do no harm, but he will provide some entertainment for a while a la Herman Cain.

In re to GDP his comments on GDP contraction.

As Catsimatidis was repeating fantastical accusations that Obama cooked the books during the election, I was reading this press release (link below) from the **conservative** National Assn of Manufacturers blaiming the contraction on the chilling effect of the GOP-led Fiscal Cliff logjam on the economy.

Catsimatidis reeks of the Tea Party's self-serving alternate reality. Unelectable.

I don't know what Catsimatidis' point was. My point was that IF solar system-wide global warming is occurring, our current working theory is incomplete.

Personally, I've felt for a long time that framing CO2 reduction in terms of pollution reduction would be a lot more successful. For instance, coal burning is just terrible in terms of CO2, it's destroying waterways (via mountain top removal), and adding really really bad things like mercury into the atmosphere.

I think climate deniers would be hard pressed to deny that the collapse of the Tennessee Valley Authority's slurry pit was an event that MUST NOT be repeated. I would start beating the drum on this - co2 reduction would be a great side benefit.

Did he really say there's Global Warming across the solar system?! While there are all kinds of problems with that statement, please everyone, no more science illiterate politicians. We don't need one as mayor.

IF other planets are warming (I've heard people say this, don't know if it's true) - it is VERY significant. It would mean our theory of why climate change is occurring is not complete.

We need to be careful we don't run our economy into a ditch. People need to realize that if the US were to cease all fossil fuel use, it would make very little difference if everyone else continues on their merry way. We would merely be poverty stricken as well as still having the problems of climate change.

I am a regular listener and am seldom moved to comment, but I find myself in a slow boil as I listen to Mr. Catsimatidis talk about his $99 sports coat concern for the common New Yorker. I want to concur with the earlier comment that NO ONE who has ever shopped at Gristedes will ever vote for him. I have a choice between shopping at a Gristedes one block from home or other grocery stores at some distance (I have no car), and I always avoid Gristedes to avoid price gouging as their prices are always 30-100% higher. Mr. Catsimatidis has made his billions on the backs of New Yorkers. Why would we believe that he will have our interests at heart as mayor?

I wouldn't mind another billionaire mayor as long as he's not Bloomberg crazy. If he wants to reign in the NYPD with real punishments for abusive practices, support true civil rights, the legislative process, unions, etc. Basically, if he's a true progressive libertarian, then I would vote for him.

Yes, that's just what we need, yet another businessman to run the city. Running a business is not the same as running a government. Get it everyone? Running a government does not mean being concerned with only the bottom line. Governments must be more flexible than business and not so concerned with spreadsheets.
