I liked what I heard him say on Monday's show. Not living in NY I don't know of his past work. It would be so nice if people would really do as they talk and that they would get our support!

Big Bill talks the talk, but does he walk the walk?
I lived in affluent Park Slope, and,later in working class, immigrant heavy Kensington.
De Blasio was the Councilman for both neighborhoods.
He couldn"t do enough for the Slope, but it was almost impossible to get him to respond when I called his office to complain about various issues in Kensington. If I got any response, it was to claim that some other City agency was responsible, and he was out of the loop.
Example: I tried to get more trash cans placed on the Ocean Parkway malls. Littering is a huge problem in Kensington.
Bill's office claimed it was a Parks Dept issue. But, Prospect Park West has a trash can on almost every
corner, and many of them have an incription saying the can was placed courtesy of Bill De Blasio, Councilman. Check it out.
I hope he will truly be more responsive to all neighborhoods if he becomes mayor.

I have met Bill DeBlasio a couple of times in the neighborhood, most recently when he appeared at a demonstration to save our firehouse. I have found him to be a good guy, He is accessable, sincere and active in advancing good causes. I also find him to be a smart and reasonable man. I am absolutely in his camp and look forward to voting for him for mayor. Christine Quinn the most likley forerunner strikes me as a woman on the make always looking for a way to advance her career. SHe really strikes me as a hustler. And I would hate to have to listen to that harsh screechy voice for four years.

De Blasio said he'd raise $500million/year by increasing taxes on those making $500k/year or more by, on average, $2,000 per year. The math doesn't work. In 2009, there were 34,245 people in the target income range (per report from John C. Liu. @ 2k/head, that works out to $68.5million, far less than De Blasio's stated half billion / year.

And dump the thug Ray Kelly, please.

He mentioned brooklyn, staten island what about the bronx, little to no subway service late nite, no buses late nites ask him how he plans to attack the problem of parent irresponsibility where schools are concerned, the schools or better yet the students doing best in schools are those who parent(s) are involved what are his plans in this area

the city has *always* been myopic. if you live above 140th in manhattan or in outer boroughs, you just don't live in nyc. the closer you live to city hall, the better service you receive. (btw: water = x10 for distance :-)

i'm not a super big fan of the current time-square mayhem, but i'll take it *every*time* over what used to be there. ditto for car windshield cleaners. ditto ditto ditto. thanks to all the democrats for the brave new changes we see around the city. (uh, wait a sec..)

Absolutely correct, Bloomberg's myopic view ends at the East River.

Please ask this man for his position on Density. Is it good or bad for the City? Do we need more of it or less?

I've met De Blasio, he is a nice guy, I wish him the best of luck, I'm not going to call him a "clown" like John has but I do agree that Bill and most of the democratic ticket, per their policies, are not on par with moving city forward.

Too many folks forgot where we were as a city before REPUBLICANS took over. I dont want to go back to 1970's New York. Sorry I will vote for anyone but these clowns.

Comptroller John Liu was on and he sounded really progressive, settlement for central park 5, real living wage etc...

Can PA De Blasio go over his background and his intentions. And can he name one way he would be the total opposite than Mayor Bloomberg...

That's funny John and it's true, but I would much rather have De Blasio over Christine Quinn for mayor any day. Although all politicians are opportunists, Quinn, who, BTW, mentions her dad a lot, takes opportunism to a new level. I don't trust her, her ego seems at least as large as Bloomberg's if not larger.

Lets count how many times he mentions his wife and kid.
