sadly the budget after this "cut" is still larger (these are not true cuts in that they are cuts to projected increases - the same math that lets you count savings in wars you were not going to fight anyway). The problem is this, if the federal reserve stops printing money and interests rates rise by just 1%, our debt payments go up $500 Billion. Every percent, $500 Billion more (tat is without more debt being piled on.) If we cant make even these small cuts, we are truly doomed.

The whole sequestor BS is HYSTERIA. Blah blah blah... it's only a few billion dollars. The DoD has wasted a half-trillion dollars on a stupid fighter jet that doesn't even work like it's suppose to. The whole ship is sinking and these fools run around washington, get on tv and the radio and BS us.

Caller Anette wants more taxes on the "job creators" (Yes it's sarcasm) ;-) You get an "A" for being vociferous :-)

Oh Anthony, NJ elected official didn't you learn that the legislation in DC has to be passed by both houses of Congress???

When the sequester was proposed, those houses consisted of a GOP-controlled House & a GOP-"filibustered"/blocked Senate.

& that's the same state of The Hill now.

Ooh, Anthony the "elected official." Time to take your "medicine", let it roll, blah, blah, blah. I sincerely hope his life savings is tied up in stocks that crash. Then let's here from him about how he likes his medicine. No amount of bribes would likely make up the losses.

Neither party will 'win' on this debacle. They are both going down in flames. Republicans, Democrats both suck.

The Dem's have no reason to cave. They are united. It's the Repub's that have 3 different positions. Sequistor is not that big a deal - the markets are telling us that... still going up. But more importantly, McConnell is up for re-election, so there will be NO compromise. He can't afford to and that's the bottom line.

Of course, we could save money not running a worldwide drug war which this senator supports.

Hi Brian,

Sen. Chris Murphy is an admitted pot smoker. Does he openly support removing marijuana off the schedule 1 drug lists? Does he support activists who want to legalize the plant on the federal level? And what can we expect from him in the future on this issue?

Thank you
