Just started watching The West Wing (on Netflix)! Don't know how I overlooked it all of these years. And it is surprisingly dealing with issues that are very relevant still today.
In contrast to Bob from Brooklyn, I remember when my dad had the mirror image experience in the late 1960s. After years of spending hours waiting for parking spaces to open up in Stuy Town, our old station wagon died and he had to rent a car to pick us up in the country. All of a sudden, parking was a problem for Hertz or Avis, no alternate side movements, repair costs, insurance payments, etc. always a new car that didn't break down -- and with our family routines, it turned out to be cheaper! Who knew?
Holy cow, I realized at age 40 that you don't need to wash your hair every day! Twice a week is perfectly fine.
Holy Cow would that be the golden one
or the Hindu one
Holy Cow, Sammy the puppy will grow into a full-sized dog and make sure you love him just as much as you love Sammy the puppy.
I turned 65 last year, and holey cow, I just got the nerve to take senior discounts at the movies!
My most recent "Why haven't I done this sooner" was when I recently replaced my telephone land line with a Magic Jack hooked up to my computer via the internet. When super storm Sandy hit us, everything went out, including my Verizon land line. It was out for over a week, almost as long as my internet connection. It proved no more secure than anything else. And it reduces the cost of my basic phone service by over 85% as well. I love my Magic Jack.
Move out of a shoebox in Manhattan after 18 years to a beautiful house in NJ.
Good for you Bob.
One of mine is finally buying a garlic press.
Holy cow why didn't I become a New York Cares volunteer sooner.
Not to be a corporate shill, but it came when I got a Mac computed for my kids after years of using a PC for work. Who knew that booting up and shutting down were not required by the laws of physics to take at least 5 minutes? You mean you can just plug in a computer and it works?
The Statue of Liberty is in New Jersey! So is Ellis Island! Whaaaa?
My moment was when I got my first car at age 33. The freedom of movement changed my life. Now I no longer feel trapped in this city.
