Dan from NJ -- It was GOP Christie Whitman -- *not* Florio (not that he was any bargain) responsible for the moral/fiscal decision to sodomize the PRFS (Police and Fire Retirement System), accdg to this accdg to this New York Times Editorial, worth a look... (for me this is an easy way to remember why I dismiss Whitman as just another hypocrite who talks when she ought to listen)

Barbara Buono sure sounds like a GREAT improvement to me!! If I lived in Jersey I would certainly vote for her and do everything in my power to promote her. How wonderful to have someone REASONABLE, SENSIBLE and PROGRESSIVE as Governor of NJ! I hope she wins and I hope she immediately goes to work digging that much needed tunnel that Christie was so KRAYZEEE to have cancelled! (The Pubs didn't want ANY stimulus plan to WORK AT ALL! - nothing to benefit the President's stature, God forbid - the cowards!!! Hope this ends up stabbing him in his big, fat, bully back!!!)
Good luck Barbara! I love you already!!!
Bumper sticker: You governor is so fat, even Obama says, There's no hope!
Gov Christie - the John Candy of New Jersey.
Will NJ start getting back more than 46 cents on every dollar it sends to D.C.?
Let's have a 2 gun per person limit. One for each hand. OK? Can we agree with that? Is that too much for the gun nuts?
one gun a month limit!?
The PRFS (Police and Fire Retirement System) was mishandled begininig with Jim Florio. They took our pension payment every paycheck, and used it elsewhwere. Christie gets into office, makes the cops and firemen look greedy because of the theft by previous governors. Where did it go? He doesn't care....Maybe Senator Buono can start an investigatuion to recover that money AND let the retired members have their menial Cost of Living Adjustment returned.
NJ could go libertarian and legalize drugs and prostitution to increase the tax base.
caller
why is the teacher’s union to blame for your high property taxes and not the hundreds of unnecessary administrators and municipalities
@caller from Hunterdon County-
So funny how someone from NJ's richest county is moaning about paying taxes. More 1% whining!
why can't the next governor reconsider the arc tunnel?
Brian,
Are you going to ask Senator Buono if she was promised a judgeship or what to get her to agree to be the Democrats sacrificial lamb for this election cycle?
Glad to see someone is willing to slim down Governor Chrisitie's big presence with some facts about N.J. other than his handling of Sandy.
@Bob - lol, that's a hail mary but probably more likely.
when Christy was dealing with the teachers union, did he make it so that their pensions have to be funded going forward?
That, or he could have a heart attack. Christie just keeps on expanding! Jesus.
Totes @ Sheldon
Christie will have to be caught with a dead woman or a live boy, for Ms. Bouno to even have a fighting chance of winning.
