When asked what a student's biggest misconception about Iran, he said that the student believed that Iran is an Islamist country. Did I hear that right? If it is not an Islamist state, then how would it be characterized. Is wikipedia incorrect concerning this. Anyone?

Please address the claim, made by people fluent in Farsi, that Ahmajinadead's incessantly-quoted statement about "wiping Israel off the face of the map" is actually a mistranslation.

Prof. Amirahmadi said Iran doesn't need nuclear power because it has so much oil. Does he have any environmental concerns about either of these power sources?
And from what I understand, it's the ayatollahs who really decide what happens Iran does. Even if he were elected president, would Prof. Amirahmadi be in any position to change Iranian policy?

I was so onboard until he said the ayatollah is a "religious man so I don't think he's lying". I hope he 'has' to say that for the campaign and does not truly believe it.

Please ask the candidate if he believes Iran's pursuit of a nuclear weapon would increase or decrease the likelihood of war with Israel and the United States.
And, what are his opinions on the sanctions placed on the country. Are the people there blaming their economic woes on foreign powers or the Iranian government?
