The FBI and NYPD concluded their excavation for human remains at a basement in Soho on April 23, 2012.

This arrest has nothing to do with inter agency feuds, and to posit that theory is ridiculous. The NYPD had no choice but to arrest Hernandez based on the probable cause from his admission. With no physical or wittness evidence available to disprove his claim the NYPD and NYDA office had no choice but to arrest. By law, with PC, the police MUST arrest the defendant. As to the inter agency issues, the case was reopened by a NYPD Det. in conjunction with his FBI partner. This led to the crime scene search and media coverage. That may have led to the Hernandez confession. The fact that it occured on the anniversary lends credence to the staement.
Pardon, envy & ridiculousness
God bless this family and all who have suffered similar losses. I don't know how they get out of bed every morning. I wish them peace, but I'm afraid they won't have it until they too have died and been reunited with their lost children.
Envy, even on this sensitive topic.
Ridiculous tie-in Ed....real sensitive. Why don't you go take your argument to the Patz family, see what their response is...
History: back then we didin't put garbage in large bags. We still used the zinc or plastic garbage cans. So I question that.
What is more likely, that a convicted pedophile who described what Etan was wearing and whose alibi was raping another child did it, or the NYPD which was embarrassed by the FBI in April, wanted to make an arrest on the anniversary of the disappearance?
Yes Ed, what a sensitive way to tie in that topic. I'm sure the Patz family appreciates it.
Brian-
Thanks for NOT making this just another police bashing segment at Obama Public Radio.
You really are the best of a bad lot.
if Hernandez were found GUILTY, would the judgement against Ramos be OVERTURNED?
Totally off topic Ed! Thanks for bringing your ideology into a totally unrelated topic.
There always something special about the Etan Patz case, and the person confessed 33 years to the day of his abduction. The reaction shows that we really do care about children and young people. Yet in towns all around us tens and hundreds and more of children are slaughtered in cold blood in abortion, without anaesthesia. Maybe we can turn this real concern to these people too?
