This arrest has nothing to do with inter agency feuds, and to posit that theory is ridiculous. The NYPD had no choice but to arrest Hernandez based on the probable cause from his admission. With no physical or wittness evidence available to disprove his claim the NYPD and NYDA office had no choice but to arrest. By law, with PC, the police MUST arrest the defendant. As to the inter agency issues, the case was reopened by a NYPD Det. in conjunction with his FBI partner. This led to the crime scene search and media coverage. That may have led to the Hernandez confession. The fact that it occured on the anniversary lends credence to the staement.

God bless this family and all who have suffered similar losses. I don't know how they get out of bed every morning. I wish them peace, but I'm afraid they won't have it until they too have died and been reunited with their lost children.

There always something special about the Etan Patz case, and the person confessed 33 years to the day of his abduction. The reaction shows that we really do care about children and young people. Yet in towns all around us tens and hundreds and more of children are slaughtered in cold blood in abortion, without anaesthesia. Maybe we can turn this real concern to these people too?
