I have to correct myself. The mailing saying Pres. Obama isn't supporting Rep. Rangel isn't from Clyde Williams' campaign but from "Campaign for Our Future," apparently the superPAC Brian asked him about. How separate they really are is another question.

Wow - what a choice for the impoverished people of upper Manhattan & the Bronx; an elderly corrupt politician who has done little to change the squalid conditions of the area, despite decades in office or 4 inexperienced wana'bees who have trouble putting sentences and ideas together. I'd vote for Rangel if I was in this district. He is clearly the smartest and most experienced of the group; in fact smarter and more experienced than all of them together. Perhaps the 21st term will be the charm for him to really do some good. Voting pro-business, instead of pro-socialist would definitely help this area. The judge who approved the terrible "gerrymandering" of NYS and NYC ought to be fired and stripped of her pension

mc, if that's so, then it's meaningless, & even misleading, for Mr. Williams to say Pres. Obama isn't supporting Rep. Rangel. Although he doesn't use the word "endorse."

I like Charlie Rangel and have voted for him every other November. Despite the fact I feel he has overstayed his tenure as my Congressman, nothing of this double-talking gobble-dee-gook coming out of the mouths of his primary challengers leads me to want another representative to the 13th Congressional district of New York.

So far so good candidate Edwards, a knowledgeable and calm speaking tone, candidate JOhnson, less is more, you don't sound more believable or confident when you ramble on and over the host when he is trying to end your time.

Ms. Johnson says, "Results are the face of change"? What does that even mean?

Not my district, but when politicians load their sentences with cliches and refer to themselves repeatedly in the third person, I'm dubious. Talking to you, Ms Johnson.

Joyce Johnson just said "we've got to bring jobs to North Manhattan." Clearly she hasn't noticed that her district includes a lot of neighborhoods in the Bronx. I can't vote for her.

Cong. Rangel has a pretty good record on constraining American military expansion and interventions. Williams at least has a coherent statement about these issues, though he is closely associated with the Clinton foreign policy establishment. Espaillat has absolutely nothing to say about military and foreign policy. He appears to be totally ignorant about these issues. All the candidates are afraid to take on the AIPAC (Israel lobby) positions that discourage peace efforts between Israelis and Palestinians.

I was impressed w/Clyde Williams at a recent candidate forum (which Rep. Rangel didn't come to). However, I received a campaign mailing from Mr. Williams' campaign that says Pres. Obama isn't supporting Rep. Rangel, so why should we? But it doesn't mention whether Pres. Obama is supporting Mr. Williams, even though he worked for the president, which seems like an interesting omission. Has Pres. Obama supported anyone in this race?

You should note that the New York Times editorial incorrectly stated that the new 13th district includes parts of the South Bronx. The district includes not one neighborhood in the South Bronx. It includes a few neighborhoods -- Bedford Park, Kingsbridge Heights, Fordham, Norwood among them -- in the NORTHWEST BRONX.

Since the Times couldn't bother to look at a map, we Bronxites wonder how carefully they considered the candidates.

Charles Rangel has been in the same office, longer than I've been born. How is this allowed in a democracy?
