Dan Savage's stunt has degraded our polity and civil dialog. It should not be celebrated even if you disagree with Santorum. Especially if you disagree----because if you believe you have the better argument, it's to your advantage to promote debate. What Savage accomplished is prompt discussion of what Savage did, and not about the merits of gay marriage.

I'd say it was up around your neckline.To include Dan Savages internet tantrum, in an allegedly unbiased, (as NPR always professes) political discussion was beyond the pale.Would your station ever include such a meaningless personal attack on air if it was say about Mr. Obamas last name.

Just a reminder re: Dan Savage's successful campaign to "re-Google" Santorum: Savage should also have been IDed as the person who started the wonderful "It Gets Better" gay-support video campaign -- a potential lifesaver. Santorum is a walking nightmare (and yes, he was most clueless seat in the Senate). Yet the Philadelphia Inquirer (a former employer of mine), hired him as a columnist for their op-ed page. For balance? Lol.

In 2012 America, one can negatively generalize about black folk and view them as a monolith, and be a viable presidential candidate.

Santorum is of Italian ancestry - or as some would say he is an "Italian-American." I am an Italian-American. I support Santorum on this point alone. We have never had an Italian-American president before. It is time we an Italian-American was in the White House. It would be a historic election.

How has Santorum justified the fact that his wife had a second-trimester (aka "partial birth") abortion though he wants to ban abortion for any reason, including the health of the mother (as that was the reason given for hers)?

I seem to recall that in the middle of the Iraq war, Santorum called a news conference to announce that WMD's had been found. It turns out that what was found were old missle casings from the FIRST Iraq war. Does anyone else remember this?

Urban policy: public transit, education, housing, etc. Santorum would be the first Republican in awhile from a Northeastern state w/ large cities and I'd like to hear how he was viewed in Philly and Pittsburgh vs rural areas.

Investigative reporter Ken Silverstein pegged Santorum as the dumbest member of Congress.

Former Senator John Kerrey of Nebraska said, "Santorum, that’s Latin for a--hole."

Isn't that it? The man has studied how religion gains votes - rightly or wrongly and played that game on his own. The Catholic Church embraced evolution publicly years (decades) ago but Santorum rides Creationism et al for votes. I hate that stuff.

Mr. Santorum is a theocrat. We have never needed a theocrat to tell us how to live; and we dont need one now.
