How does Mayor Booker justify using money from Nestle to fight obesity?
"A judge ordered Wednesday for the City of Newark to make public 36 emails about the $100 million donation Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg made in 2010 to city schools."
The ruling, issued by Judge Rachel Davidson, came after the American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey sued the city in August 2011 calling for more transparency about the $100 million pledge. The ACLU sued the city on behalf the Secondary Parent Council, a group of Newark parents.

Booker replies that he wasn't acting as mayor when he accepted the money from Zuckerberg at the Oprah show! What was he acting like, then?
Everything is not rosy in the city of Newark.

everything in moderation?
I'm glad to hear that Mayor Booker is pro-environment. I hope that means he's making all those trips he takes carbon-neutral!
I have watched the documentaries and like the Mayor pushes back vs the democratic party. Is it true that Mayor Booker was backed by a conservative think tank?

"Lautenberg ...famously said he'll leave the Senate in a pine box. "
its really not up to him!
Mr. Booker, how you talk about healthy foods when you have partnered with Nestle?
Mr Booker,
It seems to me the federal budget takes taxes from blues states and pays subsidies to red states. Will you commit to a new urban agenda, federal investment in our cities, and universities?
Also what do you think of the filibuster in its current form?
Question for Mayor Booker (I'm a huge admirer of the Mayor!) --
Of course along with his many successes he's had during his time as mayor, it seems like so much of his popularity and uniqueness comes from the way he interacts directly with his constituents, from going on ride alongs with police, to picking people up when he's driving at night, to shoveling snow for elderly residents... How does he think that will translate when he moves to represent the entire state in the Senate and won't be able to have such direct contact with constituents?
Are we talking about a primary fight here? Or did Lautenberg OK this?
He famously said he'll leave the Senate in a pine box.
Who will be best to serve as mayor of Newark after Booker's departure?
Has Lautenburg announced his retirement?
I would love to know why the mayor thinks it's appropriate to take money for an anti-obesity campaign from a company like Nestlé whose products are terrible for your health and lead to obesity.
Has Lautenburg announced his retirement?
Im no fan of this senator for life stuff.
How long was Inouye sick?
I call for voluntary age limits for congress

Time for NEW IDEAS NEW PEOPLE!
Go Booker go! Run for higher office in NJ. I just wish I could vote for you. Run for the White House and you will get my vote. Cory for President!
So, if Cory Booker wants to run for a higher office, how is he going to justify the kickbacks he accepted from Nestle for the antiobesity campaign? Nestle makes many artificial products that contribute to the obesity epidemic. In the UK, they attempted to derail the antiobesity campaign there by donating money while simultaneously offering "prizes" if parents bought their products - which included candy bars and other unhealthy snacks. Exercise alone cannot fully counteract ingestion of huge quantities of sugar. This is a huge conflict of interest that has been barely addressed by the press. Everyone complains about New York City's nanny mayor, but childhood obesity has dropped in New York City. Furthermore, Nestle is also STILL one of the worst offenders of the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes. Their marketing is abysmally misleading.
