So supposedly the mayan calendar prophecy was first promoted in the x files show, the middle face in the calendar is a lion face sticking his tongue out like making fun. The end of an era is is the last digit wich means aether, the beginning of a new math if you will, and thats all i know..

Maybe we will all realize that we are all utopians inside, a.d there is no more worthy purpose than savi.g the earth from corporations and creating an eclectic eco utopia, where everyoneand everything is rich but as a result has no need to hord, because it is always ther if you need it. A.d only work that is worthy in itself is worth doing, and not just the slavery of surviving in this corrupt society.
To that callers point about great changes -- I do believe that popular interest in 12-12 has something to do with sensing a lack of grand purpose for humanity. My bookstore gave about 12 shelf feet in 2010 to this 12-12 ending stuff.
This must be the really intelligent, non-religious, science segment for the progressive population.

I read an interesting book that correllated some of the mayan time cycles with solar cycles, specifically something called CMEs (coronal mass emissions). The sun is supposed to be in solar maximum next year, in 2013. Last time there was a solar max (or two times ago maybe, int eh 90s) it causes a huge power outage in Canada. CMEs are known to disrupt satellite transmissions etc, and influence weather. My hunch is that we should expect some freak weather

Could we clear one thing up? The adjective is "Maya" - e.g., "Maya Calendar," "Maya Civilization" etc. The people themselves are also called the "Maya."
Mayan indicates the language of the Maya only.
